I can see a Buc-ee’s beaver on our uniform in the future.
We're on the slippery slope now. Decision makers are determined to see just how far they can go before the fans turn their back on it in disgust. They think they have us by the gonads.I do not like this brave new world.
We can become like NASCAR vehiclesWorst case scenario, things will devolve until it's the same as watching a random soccer game...you don't have any idea which teams you are watching until the announcers mention them. Otherwise it looks like an industrial league contest between XXX Airlines and WQB international Bank.
I am with you in spirit, however, it’s a lost cause. Money is paramount and we have crossed many lines the last 15 years or so. We’re never going back. The cat is out of the bag - he ain’t going back in. The best CBK can do in that conversation is to put his foot down that we won’t have Huggies or Pampers patches, or the like.If I’m Key I would tell Ryan Alpert “if any corporation logo is placed on the Georgia Tech uniform I will immediately resign.”

It's our fault. We have subsidized this. A good rule of thumb: don't feed the monster.

Yes, but is the model sustainable?CFB tv ratings are setting new records. Tech's attendance this year was the best it's been in a long time.
To borrow from Samuel Clemens, the reports of CFB's death has been greatly exaggerated.![]()
I didn’t say he did. I said he might not want Huggies and Pampers patches, not no patches at all. It was an attempt to at humor but I guess it failed.I feel confident CBK could care less if Tech has patches on the uniform. What he no doubt does care about is maximizing revenue streams. And after all, don't we all care about that in our personal lives and businesses?
Yes, but is the model sustainable?
Pete Drucker wrote about “the future that’s already happened” and how to build corporate sustainability around how today’s events will impact tomorrow. We have to imagine how the future will be and align to that.
Where will the money come from 10-20 years from now and what can/will alumni and fans tolerate and embrace?

I can think of one sponsor that would be a Geoff Collins wet dream![]()

well…sh*t
You sly dog.Hmm... the University of Southern California Trojans could be problematic.
You know the natural fit (no pun intended) for USC westI’m sure there will be plenty of embarrassing and cringe worthy sponsor patches. What with the all mighty dollar and everything. Reminds me of stadium naming rights*, but worse.
*like Bobby Dodd Stadium atHistoric Grant FieldHyundai Field … Too soon?
