Let’s not be silly, it depends on the size of the check.
... well at least the dollar amountLet’s not be silly, it depends on the size of the check.
Well some predicted it even if being sarcastic.
All I know is ugag better have a walmart sponsor, but below would be good too.
Bobby Dodd. The Morris Brothers at Tech. Many more at Tech. I get your dig, though. What is an SEC graduate? Has anyone ever seen one? Or is it meant to be a verb? On the basketball shorts, maybe the NBA logo.
It’s not selling out. It’s simply living in modern times. If you think about it you could say the same thing about just about every aspect of life in the US. Times change and in 40 years it will be different than today.Sad how many people are willing to sell out anything they care about or love to increase revenue flows. People are so conditioned to seeing ads they don’t even stop to think about how perverse it is that every available square inch of space is filled with corporate ad slop. Ads on the uniforms of teams representing state universities does not sit right with me at all. Especially considering tuitions are at all-time highs and ROIs of college degrees are near all-time lows. Just adding straws to the camel’s back on my interest in college football. Sooner or later it’s going to break.
On that note, thank you to the admins and moderators of this site for not putting ads everywhere here. One of the few corners of the internet that doesn’t burn advertisements into your retinas constantly.
I hate to even think about that.5 years ago how many Waffle House logos would we have?![]()
Well, look at it this way...a logo that included scattered smothered and covered would have been prettier than the actual product on the field...unfortunately.I hate to even think about that.
A season without corporations on our uniform. THAT would be the benefit. Why? What is the benefit?

Will people pay as much for patch on a GT uniform as on a UGA one? It’s a money game to pay for talent, and we need every penny we can get to compete
It is selling out, and it doesn’t really matter if you watched Smurf’s and played with Barbie’s. Cowing to corporate pressure in order to “keep up” or gain some form of advantage is quite literally selling out. Next year GT football will have ads on uniforms, an ad on the field, and the literal name of the field they’ll play on is an ad. At the very least it’s off-putting, and at worst it’s downright disgusting how much corporate dollars have infiltrated every aspect of our lives. It’s not selling out. It’s simply living in modern times. If you think about it you could say the same thing about just about every aspect of life in the US. Times change and in 40 years it will be different than today.
Also, interests for every person change as they age. I use to love Smurfs then moved on to He-Man and then to Ninja Turtles, then sports, then girls, then job, then career, then money, then cross fit, then etc etc. I’m sure the day will come where I won’t schedule my Saturdays around GT football but that doesn’t mean the sport is bad it just means you’ve changed. My kids in their 20’s love current college football, They can’t believe we use to simply pick a champ by the media voting. And to that generation who has seen Juan as oto and Shohei get hundreds of millions and NBA players forcing trades, they don't give two thoughts to NIL because they went to high school with players who openly bragged about “what they got” to sign.
Times change. The bottom line is this fall GT will have 11 players on the field for each play. If you are upset they are getting paid or transferred in 9 months ago as opposed to being here for 24 months then that’s a decision we all get to make whether we watch or not. GT fans as a whole showed up more in 2025 than for any year in the past decade so it’s working for GT.
We've had 133 seasons of that. It might make some fans feel good, but it puts the program at a disadvantage.A season without corporations on our uniform. THAT would be the benefit.
I vote for Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Grumman, Space X, et al.My bet: Varsity, Coke, Delta, McDonalds, Waffle House, and Ford.
I doubt most of us maximize revenue in our personal lives and businesses. Do you all take vacations and watch football on your days off, or are you hustling for Uber on those days? Everyone draws a line, and for me, I would draw it short of selling space on uniforms.I feel confident CBK could care less if Tech has patches on the uniform. What he no doubt does care about is maximizing revenue streams. And after all, don't we all care about that in our personal lives and businesses?
Interesting observation. I agree in that I didn't have a side hustle that I worked on my days off prior to retiring but I did and still do like ways of increasing revenues or income that require little to no effort on my part, which is what happens when you sell space on your jersey to a sponsor. This increases tenfold where my job is somewhat revenue dependent. So, if I am the AD or HFC, my team will have patches on their jersies.I doubt most of us maximize revenue in our personal lives and businesses. I understand we have to keep up with the Jonses, but there has to be a limit, or so it seems to me. I wonder why NFL (I started to write "pro") football doesn't "maximize revenue"?Interesting observation.
