It’s almost shocking how little Iowa St wants the ball tonight. Not only do they completely fail to block out, it seems they actually run away from loose balls. Disgusting and unfortunate… mostly because Tennessee is the beneficiary. Tonight’s results piss me off actually.

Parity seems relatively high in college football. But relatively low in college basketball.

College football playoffs keep trying to expand. But at least the last few NCAA tourneys have been a lot of wasted foreplay just to end up with the already identified top teams.

Parity in football? The CFP was the usual suspects with 2 new rich kids.

College football - Miami was a 10 seed and upset Texas A&M and a very large upset against reigning national champion Ohio State. Indiana went 3-9 including 1-8 in conference in 2023.

I consider that parity.

Whereas the NCAA tournament saw no large first round upsets, which is relatively uncommon. And ultimately the final four are top teams.

I almost stated 3 no 1s. But it was lovely watching dook choke it away.

The one common denominator in all of this is that the $EC doesn’t seem to be as dominant - largely due the playing field being leveled with teams being able to legally pay players for play.

Kinda disagree with the "hold onto the ball" takes. You're up 2 and you're in the bonus - it was very realistic UConn was going to have another shot to win or tie. Obviously it didn't work out but you want to run that clock down as much as possible for their ensuing inbounds/rebound off the free throw. Just a little too careless with that final pass by Cayden Boozer.

You are a guard who supposedly knows how to shoot free throws. Make one best they can do is tie. Make two and it’s over. So yes I believe it is hold the ball as soon you’re gonna get fouled and they get the ball back with two seconds to go on their own end line

For what it’s worth they had already run a fair amount of time off

In the double bonus, sure. But miss the first and you don't get the second. And Boozer would have been fouled with about 6ish seconds at the minimum if he holds onto it, not 2 seconds.

You were right it wasn’t 2 but by the time they fouled him it would’ve been under four close to three and that’s not really enough time to get a good shot. Plus that expectation they would’ve been up by four

Miami and Ohio State have multiple National Championships. A 10 seed in the CFP is one of the top 2 three seeds in the basketball NCAAT. Indiana and Texas Tech are the new rich teams that crashed the party. Blue Bloods galore.
