Hard to know who to root for at this point. Duke is the only ACC team left. Big Ten has 6 teams, SEC has 4 teams, 3 Big 12 teams, 2 Big East teams, 1 ACC Team. Interesting that Houston is playing their game in Houston. Seeds left: #1 3, #2 4, #3 2, #4 3, #5 1, #6 1, #9 1, #11 1. If not Duke would rather be a Big East team in lieu of a Power 4 team.
The answer is always Houston.

Tell me what you guys think....I'm part of the final 122 of a $22,000 NCAA Survivor Pool.

Thus far, I have used the following teams:

Illinois
Alabama
Arkansas
UCONN

Today, I'm leaning Arizona, primarily because I feel like EVERYONE will be on Purdue tonight.

If it goes as expected, I plan to take the following:

AZ
Iowa State
Houston
Michigan
Purdue
Duke

Here's my dilemma, if I pick AZ tonight, I'm banking on Purdue to reach the championship game by beating Michigan again.

In my brackets, I have AZ winning it all. That means, if I choose AZ tonight, I would need Duke to win it all.

Thoughts?

Assuming its every day of games.

I would go with:

Nebraska
Iowa State
Houston
Michigan
Duke
Arizona

I think i did that correctly

Man....All week, I have been thinking and saying Nebraska, and it would set me up so well.

In fact, that is almost exactly what my original ladder looked like, but I just don't know if I can sweat it out tonight. It is going to be a dogfight.

They're such a small favorite, and they split during the regular season. Would hate to go out trying to get cute.

getting cute is almost always a terrible idea, until it works that one time and becomes a great story.

its way easier to give this advice when i have no skin in the game. lol

For me, that was last year when Houston came back and beat Duke. I split it with 7 others last year and took home $3K.

Doubt that horseshoe is still up my *** this year, so I am being more conservative than normal.

Do you want to split the pot or WIN the pot?!?
Come on! You’re going to have to take a risk.
Go with Nebraska tonight, Mich St tomorrow and be sitting pretty with AZ, ISU, Mich, Purdue, Duke and Houston still in your pocket.
Fortune favors the bold!

The first 2 games last night were really good.
Second 2 were not very competitive.

ILL is known for being a great offensive team, but was ridiculously good on defense last night - holding Houston to 34% shooting and only allowing 7 shots at the rim all night.
FWIW, I loved an article I saw on ILL yesterday talking about their offense. It says the scouting report for them looks for 'beards' (bad defenders) on the other team and then gameplans to relentlessly attack those players all game.

AZ shooting 64% for the game - that is unbelievable. Interesting that they take fewer 3 pointers than anyone but just bully you inside.

I have a bracket in my big pool (650+ brackets) with a FF of St Johns, Illinois, Arizona and Michigan. Michigan over St Johns for the title. I put it in almost as a goof and am currently in 12th. If i win i wont say anything but there will be signs.

Hopefully @Connell62 didnt listen to the “brain trust”
Nah, I went with AZ and made it through. Houston losing kinda hurts because I’ve already used the Fighting Illini.

Gotta win today before that becomes a real problem. Leaning Iowa State but I know that’s where everyone else will line up.

Just not sure I have other good choices. Saving Duke & Michigan, and Mich St / UCONN will be a banger.

I don’t know if there is a “most valuable 6th man” award, but if there is, Heise from Iowa St has it locked up… unless some bureaucrat disqualifies him for being thrust into a starting role.
Michigan state is finally starting to look like they were supposed to. The first 10-11 minutes of that game were a Sparty disaster.
