We putting any skin in the game? Hard for me to get too excited without something "real" to play for. LOL

Would $20 or $25 entry fee, winner take all be acceptable?

This year looks like a whole lot of top 4 seeds in each bracket will advance. Likely an NIL function.

If your playing a reminder that Aden Hollaway at AL has been arrested and is unavailable.
He was their #2 scorer, #2 assist man, highest 3FG%, highest FT%.
Just redid my bracket in my Family challenge. I thought Alabama had a fairly easy path to the Sweet 16. Not now.

Its not official though, that i have seen yet. Just that he's off campus, didn't travel with the team and they are practicing as if they will be without him. I have not seen: "Holloway unavailable for XYZ"

I love creating the bracket challenge. I really do. But I’m burned out on creating new accounts, buying apps, or adding to my existing list of 300 passwords.

I was either born too late or too early, I’m not sure which. But I’m trying to figure out how to be less wired in and less connected. 🙁

If so, that is the opposite of NIL's football effect. The sports are so different in roster size and how many players contribute that I guess that isn't surprising.
I agree with that. I think the days of the Mid Majors getting to the Elite Eight or Final Four are gone. I hope not. We will see within a couple of weeks.

Man, I hope not! The first weekend of the NCAA tournament is the greatest weekend in all of sports as far as I’m concerned. If NIL neuters two dozen participants annually, it’ll be a disaster!
…but I don’t think it will…

Hope you’re right. So many fun memories of the first round over the years. Even if there wasn’t a major upset there was always some unknown team taking a blue blood team right to the edge. And that first round always seemed to set up the second round for more drama.

I agree and also hope there are several upsets. That makes the first weekend so much fun. I am concerned though. We will know late Sunday night.

I came in 3rd last year in my family's bracket out of maybe 25 (nieces, nephews, outlaws, inlaws, aunts, brothers, stepsons, etc.). I watch about 5 -10 minutes of college basketball each year whether I need to or not. Most of the rest of the participants are hoops junkies and could debate the merits of a Kent State vs UCSB matchup at great lengths.

What's my secret you may ask? It's easy and I am happy to share it here my my GT fam. Randomly pick 3 of the 4 regions and bet the chalk. In your other (4th bracket) do the usual thing...pick the 12 over the 5. Go crazy. Draw numbers out a hat and always go with the lower seed. Turns out this this worked - I guessed correctly on the region that didn't follow the chalk.

After a number of years of languishing in the cellar of this pool by just going with random picks, I knew I could no longer depend on luck and had to come up with a system. So I did (you know how we Gt people roll). The participants in this pool have flipped from being totally derisive of my knowledge to somewhat respectful in the course of one year. If you were to ask me how to pick the region that won't follow the chalk, I will confess that, at this point, I can not tell you with certainty. I have to say last year was purely luck (but would never say this to them). But I expect to give this method further research and when I have determined the correct answer I will have no issue reporting back. It's my way of paying it back or forward or whatever. Good luck in your brackets ladies and gentlemen. And remember, your bracket results (or lack thereof) really don't define you as a person anymore than your woeful gpa back at Ma Tech did or does. What really matters most at the end of the day is if you gave it your best shot or just sort of mailed it in. As Gt men and women, it's imperative that you do, in fact, give this matter (like all others) your best shot. Regards.
