The ACC has some teams with lots of money for football, way more than GT. Miami, FSU, Clemson, SMU and Louisville. GT won’t have top 3 talent level in the ACC. Doesn’t mean we can’t compete for ACC Titles. It will never be easy though.
It won’t be easy but fortunately there is a limit to where you can get w talent. By that I mean, every year we hear about Miami’s talent and they almost always underachieve. FSU routinely recruits strongly and FSU media and fans love to talk about their talent and depth. Yet FSU still manages to disappoint.

Would be poetic if we flipped it on the mutts with a quarterback from their backyard. “The boy from Bogart” has a nice ring to it. They would be livid and confused. “Why would anyone from Oconee Co wanna play for annyone other than for the dawgs?”

Would be nice after all the hype around King if the guy in the wings actually turned out to be the chosen one.
Because the quicker athletic defenses figured where to stand ( dispite eye candy) the ol youth movement was a $1000000 bust this year. Because the ol couldn't free up rb, King had to play come from behind - averaging 400 yds Are we going w a wide open scheme? REGARDLESS, thevOL must lead the way. AND BEAT GOOD WELL COACHED TEAMS - not just weaklings..

King and Philo play golf and are buds. Would be cool to see King hand off to Philo.

Its amazing to see everyone focus on personnel when u just saw a defense play against a top offense and shut them down

Coaching was the issue as much as anything. Period. I wish i had time to do a video but our alignment and position playing, windows, backpedaling was totally different for uga. We had a coaching issue that was finally addressed because it had caught up to us. Our talent while not perfect was not nearly or close to what its performance was on D

The easiest thing to do is just say we need better players. Sure

We need better coaches too
Worries me we steadly got worse as season progressed. The offense bailed out the D for the yesr and we were undefeated till last 3 fames. Without the BC fan outrage, the Pitt fan outrage, would Key still follow the - we are at our desks working to control getting better speal? I wonder who had been saying our players sucj, so lets make them play in space? That guy and the guys who said nothing need to go.

The ACC needs to force Notre Dame’s hand.
Either join the ACC or figure out a way to fill your schedule without playing ACC Schools. The ACC is just giving ND their cake and allowing them to eat it too.
Tech needs to try to get out of the ACC before all the other schools do.
Tech is the most watched ACC team so; we add value & TV revenue wherever we go.
Start working with the SEC or Big 10 as soon as possible; do not get left behind!

I agree about ND but I saw a list somewhere that had FSU and Clemson more watched than us.

Welcome to 2022.

All that matters is getting an invite out of this conference. Clemson, Miami, and FSU are already gone. Y’all can laugh at FSU and Dabo right now but they won’t be down long especially when they get in a P2.

I dont know that this is true in the modern era. We are fully funding the $20M rev share package, as are these schools. Beyond that, more money from the school doesn't really help. Then it comes down to how much NIL you can generate on top. In a major city, with a rich alumni base, you can get a lot further with a handful of great connections than you could a few years ago (see Texas Tech). Gone are the days where you need an alumni base of 1000 used car salesmen willing to give 5*s a McDonalds bag with $1000 in it.

I agree, however, take Duke BB. They had $38M in NIL from 4-5 doners last season. GT has zero chance to compete with that. FSU, Clemson and Miami are well funded thru donors for football. Miami has the most but they get the least from actual gate revenue. We just need a couple of the super rich doners that give mega millions to academics to give 20% of it to GT Athletics!

I for one am actually lookign forward to King's shift to coach, truth is he just played this year with a imperfect repair on that shoulder sicne he never got it actually fixed. it cost us some on terminal deep ball accuracy. With him on the sidelines as a a GA working with weinke with Philo we got a chance for something very special (king will likely get some workouts for nfl teams but wihtout surgery and rehab i don't think his arm gets fixed)

We need to shift form a 4-2-5 to a 3-3-5 tite/ 3-2-6 dime/nickel alignment. We have a very very hard time recruiting enough bodies for a 4-2-5 which is extremely reliant on manning up and beating people the way we run it. In a 3-3-5 we will eb able to vary our 4th pressure man a bit more and it is easier to recurite a tweener outside backer/nickle in the portal than it is getting 2 down edge rushers. This also limits our true DL need to 1 big boy at a time. Run stoppign becomes based on blitzing and causing havoc. Some of our best success agianst georgia came when we were in a 3-3-5 over alignment with manley in a 2 point.

try again. I agree unknown in the ACC. But 2027 @ Tn, @Notre Dame and UGA had 2 teams in the playoffs last year and will likely have 2 in this year. All 3 have been strong for several years. I just wish we would lighten our OOC schedule outside of obviously UGA.
Tennessee, along with Missouri, LSU and a few others, is just a typical ACC team that would be in the 6-2 scrum with us, SMU, Duke, etc. that gets severely overhyped bc of their conference affiliation. Yeah, they gave Uga a good game but we did as well. Not sayimg that's an easy OOC game fwiw but they will not be on par with ND and Uga.

We ran a lot of 4-3 Friday that seemed to do really well
