That was a response to you saying that I was saying CDH 2.0 in my "long detailed post."

If you read my post and thought that I thought Ramsey is CDH 2.0 or in any way feel the same way as some of the miserable posters coming out of the woodworks right now, I don't know what to tell you. It seems like maybe you don't like to talk baseball.
You would be wrong.

I can tell you that not playing your highly touted freshmen doesn't help.

I don't want to revisit the Underwood discussion, but a lot of us felt like he got pulled out of the Sunday role too fast.

We have have kids like Willcox and Underwood have success. Can't have success when you barely play.
One thing that has impressed many about Key on the football side of things is how he seems quick to make decisions regarding the people that report to him. Do you think or even suspect that Ramsey is all in on his pitching coach this year. I know you follow this closely.

Fair. Maybe we're just all a little wound up right now. I try to be one of the more positive ones (because I feel like there's a lot to be positive about) and didn't take too kindly to you taking what I said to be something it wasn't. Misunderstandings all around. The sun will rise tomorrow. We will win a lot more games under Ramsey 1.0.

Please post more during the regular season next year. There’s a great group of regular core posters with knowledge and camaraderie. They are very welcome to newcomers. But you have to understand the reactions to negative troll posts coming out of the woodwork at the end of the season from fonts who were nowhere to be seen all year.

There are two schools of thought (imo) at the end of the day.

A) we are known to be poor in the postseason. this is the time of year when it really matters. and there is a root cause - pitching (or lack thereof), coaching (or lack thereof), weak conference or schedule

B) we are a really good team and program that has just an unusual run of bad luck in the postseason over the last 20 somethings but that's just the way it is, bc it's baseball.

I am not saying either one is wrong or right. Not advocating for one or the other. But I do believe you have to be of the second mindset to show up for this year after year. I will point out that i have nothing but mad respect for the 10 - 15 people here who have posted regularly over the years and who have been steadfast in their faith and belief. I do respect that in all honesty.
And I’d say it’s a mix of both. You can’t have a program of our pedigree (MLB talent-wise) over the past 21 years and have never made it out of the regionals without having some systemic issues that are holding you back (pitching recruiting, pitching coaching, hitting philosophy, in-game management, etc. Not necessarily the same one(s) every year).

At the same time, you can’t have a program of our pedigree (MLB talent-wise) over the past 21 years and have never made it out of the regionals without having some very unfortunate luck.

I won’t claim to be a die-hard like some of the posters in here. But I’ve kept decent enough tabs since I was a student ~15 years ago to say that (imo) baseball has been our best program over the last 20 years, is our best program in the here and now, and is setup to continue to be our best program for the next 20 years. So for me at least that’s why I really locked in this year and will definitely be back next year invigorated as ever despite this result.

Why is RamblinWreck.com blocking the post-game press conference? I want to hear out of the horse’s mouth what the hell he was thinking? Was it a decision by committee or just him making those moves.

F' man. If that doesn't get you at the end, nothing will.

Started off a little angry at what Ramsey had to say because he wasn't really owning it, but I think he owned it a little better the more he talked.

This is where I like Key's "I've gotta be better" bluntness.

I do think Ramsey will be great though and this is only the beginning. He may come off as somewhat laid back, but you can tell this is eating him already.

Heartbreaking man. Generational offensive talent, special season with a double conference regular season/ACC tournament title, and #2 overall seed in country.

As much as we're all heartbroken, you know our players are hurting more than any of us. I don't follow GT baseball quite as closely as a lot of you, but this was an extremely fun season for me...even as a baseball part timer. I was literally driving down the Oregon Coast watching the game on the ESPN app because I was so invested in watching us finally break into the Super Regionals for the first time in two decades plus.

Personally, I feel like Ramsey knows how important it is for our program to take that next step. He didn't take over for Hall just to make it to Regionals. GT brought him on to carry the baton to take that next step for this program. I'm confident he will, our administration feels that way (hence the new contract), and so do our donors who just unloaded a brinks truck donation for GT baseball.

I wish it ended better for the players and for you GT baseball die hards.

EDIT:

Also, for those that continue to "carry the fire" for GT baseball by making these great baseball

Lots to address but I'll only post this...

The sky is falling and defund the program sentiment is just silly and trying to cope with loss....

In the end, it's a game played by kids 18-22 for the love of the institute we ALL love..they are absolutely hurting right now and to every parent on here and to those I've met in person....my heart breaks for your kid but thank you from the bottom of my heart to each and every coach and player that puts their heart and soul for the institute I love so much and I'm a sidewalk tech fan but the biggest tech sidewalk tech fan you'll ever meet..

Did you see Drew tear up talking about Vahn so with all due respect....I have no time to hear anything but thanks to these boys!!!!

I already have my deposit in for 4 tix for 2027 Tech baseball

From Gt33, GtNavy, HomePark, Jacket Mom, and SO Many others, being known as the chain guy is what I love about this school and our fans...We are family.
We celebrate together but we also hurt together..but we do it together as TECH FANS! Most classy fans I've ever known! Love reading Decatur's analysis.

The heartbreak I experienced watching that walk off hr was that my son is graduating in 20 months from Hs and off to the military (West Point) or Ga Tech and I really wanted to take my son to Omaha before he goes to serve this great country.

It doesn't diminish the loss but it also doesn't take away 50 wins, an acc reg and tournament championship.

This program is in great shape and is not only going to get to omaha VERY SOON but i feel they'll win a natty soon! Yeah I said it! We have a great coach and the future is bright....I simply will not hang my head! Proud Tech Baseball Fan That'll never change. Chain coming back with my loud mouth next year at the Rusty C.

I could care one spit about sec narratives..

I hope the posters keep posting and discussions continue all the way through next February. I went through a brutal custody battle and my kids and this board made me smile during some not so fun times...

I love Tech Baseball. Have since 1994. Next February can't get hear soon enough...

Go Jackets! Always and Forever

I think his quote at the 2:50 mark says it all, regarding pitching decisions: “We trust all those guys [Patel, Loy, McKee]… and there’s the adage of “If we’re gonna lose this game and you have this guy on the mound, you’re ok with it””.

He was never going to put anyone not named Patel, Loy, or McKee out there today if the game was still in doubt. They made the decision before the game that they were going to ride who got them there and live with whatever the outcome was.

Not a big Jackson Caudell person usually, but glad he put this out there. As confident as I am in Ramsey and where he's going to take the program, it's important to be held accountable. We don't know what the "right" moves were or if anything changes either way, but I like putting stuff like this out there so that he sees it and knows we all are watching and care.

I don’t have e a lot of knowledge of baseball strategy like some of the guys here. I do read the board and learn a lot from the people who have played.
