I think yesterday may have been the most upsets I’ve ever seen in day one of the regionals. Some late night shockers Coastal and USC gets beat.

By my count, the home team was only 17-14 yesterday (counting the dwags in the win column) with OK-Citadel postponed to today. Top 8 were 6-2 with #1 and #4 going down while #8 won on a walk-off HR in the bottom of the 9th. Other hosts were also 6-2 with #9 and #10 going down, while #12 scored 2 in the b8th to win by 2 and numbers #13 and #15 scored 2 in the b8th to win by 3. So overall, the top 10 seeds were 6-4 in day 1 action and very close to 5-5.

I wonder how well they are built tom play through the loser's bracket
Feel like you gotta double down at this point. Going 1-2 or even 2-2 is no better than 0-2. Your best odds of winning the regional are not going to come from wasting Flora against an awful Holy Cross. Gotta bet that you can beat them without him, maybe even hold him back for the 1-1 game if you see Tarleton St again and hope you get to the final and can finally use him vs Texas

So assuming the NCSt score holds, the ACC went 3-6 in opening games.
Maybe the conference is overrated instead of underrated?

(Calm down guys just trying to add a little levity 😄)

Jacksonville St. was higher ranked, for instance. Not sure that was an upset.

I said in a thread a couple weeks ago I would rather face any SEC 2 seed than Jacksonville State. Their pitching ranks top 20 nationally in every statistical category other than walks.
