That would just put the bagmen back in business.I honestly think the transfer portal is ok, NCAA should put a cap on amount you can pay a player like no more than 1 mil.

I tend to agree right now, but suspect when collective bargaining/employee status kicks in, we will see that pay for play is the primary culprit. Only time will tell. It’s actually the unlimited transfers that is doing the most damage to college athketics

Yes. I know. I didn't forget. But they are true freshman. Not sure how that will work out as your have zero to very limited snaps for TEs and WRs.We signed 4 wrs and 2 TES in our freshman class have brought in another TE and WR in the Portal and probably have another few targets.

Please please let that happen! They were NOTHING like today's madness. That would just put the bagmen back in business.
I agree but money is messing starting to trump tradition unfortunately. It’s not a 1 to 1 comparison but you even look at Livingstone going from Texas to OU for 800k. Kid grew up a Longhorn fan.Regardless of whether or not it has been confirmed the wildest thing about the whole messed up situation is that these players today don’t understand the tradition. They don’t truly understand what the “clean old fashion hate” really is. I know it is unrealistic to expect some of these guys to get it because they may have not been Tech fans their whole lives like a lot of us, but associating with the mutts in any way is a no no.
It is just lame that some of these guys would even consider transferring to the other team, much less actually doing it. So wild. It has been and always will be go jackets and THWG.
Sorry ...welcome to the farm system...we train freshman down here in the minors until they get called up to the major leagues7 WRs gone...
4 TEs gone...
Hope we start pulling some bodies from the portal and quickly.
I know we have freshman coming in but they are still freshman.
Is it just me or does Philo putting the photo with “I’m Home” rub anyone else the wrong way haha
NFL players can make as much on the side as they like with endorsements. NFL players have less ability to control where they will play early in their careers. They get drafted and negotiate a contract. They may get traded, but usually they will play out their contract. It really is incredible the amount of money some will spend to land a high school athlete. (And this is coming from myself who does donate to NIL) but you never hear of avid NFL fans giving a free agent a bag behind the scenes.. college sports is just wild.
I may just not watch football next year
That is unrealistic though.I honestly think the transfer portal is ok, NCAA should put a cap on amount you can pay a player like no more than 1 mil.
Imagine hating a school so much that you walk away from guaranteed starting job and pretty large NIL money....You are not wrong
Yeah, no. That won't work out too well.Sorry ...welcome to the farm system...we train freshman down here in the minors until they get called up to the major leagues
This one shocks me .. Dad played at Tech, From ATL. We have always run multiple TE and he would’ve gotten a lot of game time this year smh
The players choose to enter the portal. No one can "manage" that. This seems like really bad roster management. Sorry to sound too critical but hopefully we land some more help from the Portal. We need some game time experience.
