Strangest ending I have ever seen. Cal... Is not a good team. Many strange fielding decisions.

Their infield was playing super shallow to go home with anything. Left a big gap in front of the outfielders. Just fortunate placement with the bloop.

We're winning the games we should & need to keep that up. Got some tough series ahead. Just keep winning & get healthy.

Good game to stretch out Jones & see how deep he can go. He still had good velocity even up to when he was done. Hard to tell if he was any wilder in the 6th than he was in the 1st.

Brosius is in a serious funk. He'll get going but again, but as good as Ramsey is fixing batters you'd think he'll get him straightened out pretty soon.

Not sure what's going on with Cal, but it looked like they quit in the 5th. Game was 5-3, they left a pitcher out there that had averaged 2 innings per appearance to start the 5th. I don't remember but he was at somewhere around 75 pitches. Had to be way out that kid's comfort zone. Not saying they had any chance to win, but you got murderer's row up and you leave that kid in to get slaughtered. Down 10-5 in the 8th, they trotted in kids that maybe get to see the mound against Sac St. Again, they're not going to win, but those kids got pounded against weak teams. It was not going to be pretty and it wasn't. Were they worried they'd run out of pitchers?

I think the Cal coaches knew they had a game on Sunday. The Saturday game was in the can in the 8th, so they played the long game. I was curious about their decision in the 5th, but not so with the 8th.

We're at the point where mid-week games like Auburn are important to our Regional hopes. I hope we are playing the long game as well.

Let's just win today. This team is a joy to watch if you are a GT fan. I've learned not to go to far into the future.

And I'll keep picking two wins if we keep sweeping. Most still in the poll, but it'll take a 4 for 4 day for Burress to improve his BA. Pretty amazing that we are doing as well as we are without Schmidt out, Lodise out and Burress not hitting. But there were a bunch of defensive plays we made yesterday that were a thing of beauty. And the baserunning was spot on.

Great win. I feel like we were fortunate to win 4-3 since they had 9 LOB and we had 5. But we had no errors and some great D plays. In any event sweep!!!!!

No one got all four right in the poll. The GT under 27.35 was a big discriminator since we scored 27 (good picking of the total runs :) ). And we only gave up 13 rather than 17. What is really impressive is we had the sweep with Burress not hitting for BA. Just so many great hitters on this team. 64% picked us to sweep, statistically improbable but it's what happened. I'll take 2 next series and hope we sweep again!!

On related note, I was reading a "The Atlantic" article about needing to find joyful ways to spend time on the internet. GTSwarm fits that bill this year.

A big reason we only had 5 LOB is because they turned 4 double plays. The key to the game for me was when they scored twice in the 6th and we came right back to tie it up in the bottom of that inning. The key to the weekend was getting quality starts from all three of our weekend starters. If we can keep that up we should have continued success.

The TEAM is really really strong. This weekend there were contributions from guys who played little early in the season. That experience can (if needed) pay big in the post-season.

Defense is coming around with 2 key starters out right now. Aggressive baserunning is putting pressure on the opposition. Love that. Coaching... gets real quiet about Hall when there's evidence he's actually good at it.

It's fun. You really have to find the nits to pick.

I've been slow to acknowledge how improved this team is... particularly the pitching. I'm all in now. My expectations are as high as they could get for all the goals you'd have for an elite D1 program.

The definition of a market top? I'll be all in when we win the CWS.

Hall has done a good job of leaving the program in great shape for whoever (Ramsey) takes over. We are playing to our recruited / portal talent rankings.
