I wonder if these rankings include the 2025 recruitiing classes. This came out in August and I'm guessing it doesn't include the 2025 class because Tech does have one 5 star - Petty - on roster. (And they had better do everything they can to keep him; the young man is a real factor.) Otherwise, this is probably as good a gage of recruiting as you can find. I'll watch out for it next season.

Yes. It shows the heading as for 2025 Team Talent Composite. Pursuant to your question I clicked on the GT line with 12 four stars, and it show the following with the roster including Josh as a four Star. I will hasten to add that on their main 2025 board for the 2025 class he is shown as a Five star with the other five as four stars. I added both links. Take a look at the links.

So, has anyone viewed the replay of the Hail Mary pass? Tell
Me what you think of the play on Rutherford in the EZ. If that’s called, it GT ball on 2 yard line. Interested in your opinions.
I watched the replay, but don't think I'm seeing what you are seeing.

One thing we should be doing on these end of game hail mary's imo is having a WR facing the defenders in the end zone looking to catch the batted ball. Stockton, Rutherford, etc, someone with good hands that maybe isn't going to have much of a shot at high pointing the ball to catch it to begin with. It's almost a certainty its going to get batted, and I've seen it happen that someone catches the batted ball to score and tie/win.

Our “D” played pretty good and the team showed their toughness to the world.
Kirby was not going to get in another shoot out with Tech so, he decided to hit us in the mouth with their running game. They stuck with that plan over the entire game. I worried our defense would wear down and ugag would run the score up in the 4th Quarter.
The boys just took every bludgeoning blow and got better as the game went on.
I’m betting Kirby was actually surprised at the resiliency and the fact that we were in the game all the way to the very last play! I‘m sure ugag thought they could bully the little ACC team into submission.
A good recruiting class and this team could be a major player in 2026.

If I didn't know any better, I would have thought we have a bunch of jellyfish posting in this thread, because it appears many have no spine to speak of what so ever based on the comments being made. For fugs sake, we just lost to the perceived #4 team in the country by a single TD, when nobody thought we had a snow alls chance in hell. Feel free to jump off the band wagon and root for your favorite factory school of the month. GT don't need you.
Some us are just tired my guy. We wanna see Tech win. Same as you. Tired of the same outcome year in year out

It amazes me in instances like this that we can’t/won’t make ball spots more scientific. Tennis has Hawk-Eye that can say a ball is in/out accurate to 2.5mm. MLB is finally introducing robot balls and strikes next year.

For high-level college and NFL, can we not put a chip in the ball that can determine exactly where the furthest point of the ball is at a particular moment (when the runner is down)? Seems dumb to rely on inconclusive camera angles that more often than not don’t have the down-the-line shot that you need
The NFL already switched to virtual tracking this season. They are also using Hawk-Eye (as will the MLB).

The technology is already there and good enough that most people didn’t even realize the NFL switched.

Highly underrated in the loss was special teams.

Watched several games and it’s no better. Sounds scientific but it’s electronic guessing.

I know I am a little late to the party. I was at the game yesterday and just got home in AZ.

First if the do the Benz thing again they need to make it a home game. Only sell 20% of the tickets to the mutts and put them in the end zone. I was right next to the band, right behind the tuba players and was surrounded my mutts. They were nice enough but gag.

I thought the play calling was too vanilla yesterday. I would have liked to seen something like a naked bootleg or something a little different, even bringing in Philo for a play or two.

Needed a break and just couldn't get it done.

I would put Haynes King above Reggie Ball, just because Ball had Calvin Johnson catching all of his crazy passes. Although, King would have probably had a few more losses without Birr kicking field goals, so maybe it’s a wash. They both get filed under “Tech quarterbacks that couldn’t beat LOLuga”.

Hail Mary plays are rarely officiated...pure backyard football
This.

We didn’t lose because of officiating. We didn’t lose because of bad coaching.

We had a very good game against a top 5 team in the nation.

The real frustration with this game had nothing to do with this game. It was losing to a Pitt team that got manhandled by Miami today and losing to an NC State team that wasn’t good at all.

The frustration was Tech missing out on one of its best opportunities in a very long time given the schedule we had this season (we basically avoided all the top ACC teams), and the fact that we had a great senior QB with decent enough supporting cast, to make it to the playoffs.

If we had won against Pitt last week we would all be celebrating about how UGA got lucky because we were looking forward to the ACCCG at this very moment.

Maybe in days of yore, but that's not worked for a long time. Personally, I'm tired of it screwing up my Thanksgiving weekend. I am ready for change, just not elimination of the game. It is still most years, when we're not led by a knucklehead, a very competitive game.

My further thoughts are that NIL has allowed CBK to catch up very quickly from being outscored 97-7 under TFG. CBK's 4 tries have been 37-14 (where it was virtually tied at the half), 31-23, 44-42 (8 OTs), and 16-9.
No matter how you slice it, Key is 0-4 against LOLuga. I really don’t need to see Chan Gailey part 2 electric boogaloo.

was surprised at how quick they were to decide.
The assumption here is that they weren’t constantly replaying every play.

Unlike a regular Saturday where they may be dealing with 4-5 games at a time, the replay center had no other games to look at during the game.

They were likely reviewing everything even slightly close the moment it happened, irrespective of whether it was challenged.

Go find a coach with a winning record against Smart. Current coaches = 1. Retired coaches =1. They both coached Alabama.

We are not close to being Alabama in football.
It continues to amaze me how many of our folks think we should be beating UGAg on a biannual basis. Literally no one else but Alabama has done that in over 10 years now. Yet our folks get PO’ed because we lose that game. Yes, it stinks and yes we did beat them last year but didn’t get the W.

To be fair, I think we(collectively, maybe not individually) are taking this loss so hard precisely because of the way we lost last year. We feel we’re owed one. Rationally, as much as it sucks, I think we all agree with you. They are on a historic run and it’s not a Tech problem it’s a Georgia problem(as in they are a problem for everyone). It’s hard to admit that after the way we lost last year and thinking all offseason that we have to earn that one back.

Currently, we are 52nd in the country below many of the ACC teams like BC, Stanford and WF. This looks like a familiar pattern. We have one good year when we hire a new coach and then
we fall into a familiar pattern of poor recruiting classes. You would think that GT would be having a better year considering the improved year we have had. See latest 247 rankings.

I tried to start a convo about this in another thread. This worries me...

You may be right. I have obsessed over last year’s game far too long. It *really* irked me how that game was literally stolen from us by the refs. That burned my toast and I’m still salty.
