He's new to the program. Knowles and Adamson have been accessible to the fans through Fan Day and other activities in the past. This is the first time he's on campus and his name recognition adds some hype to the upcoming Spring Practice. I think people are reading way too much into this. I feel confident that Knowles, Adamson, and Bergeron have all been told that they will have an opportunity to win the starting position the same way Mendoza has been. It's Marketing 101; strike while the iron is hot.

This was my take too. He’s newer to Tech culture and this is a way to welcome him into the fold. Good PR for the program.

Definitely over thinking it. I actually was at the game. Saw some fans talking to Mendoza, taking pics with him, dads, sons, etc. I was near enough to hear a bit of the interaction, all positive, harmless chit chat. “I’m loving Tech…..so far, so good…..working hard to learn the playbook” sort of stuff. He had a big smile on his face, seemed like an engaging, likable young man.

But performing on the field will determine who plays…..not taking a couple pix with fans on a chilly Tuesday in February.

People get paid all the time to go to public appearances. Why is there so much energy against the guy getting paid? Someone wanted to pay him to meet and greet GT fans and students. How horrible. Apparently nobody wanted to do that for the other guys. So what?

The issue is not him getting paid. And… if this was set up by his NIL then there is no issue at all. The only issue would be if the football staff set this up, and then it’s just bad optics.

Personally, I don’t agree with some of the drama creation posts, but they’re fun to read and see where some people’s heads are right now.

It's pretty difficult to be maxed pissed off during the season if you don't practice during the offseason as well. You play like you practice yeti, haven't you heard? It's true for us fans as well.
