Agree to disagree. I just do not think our team will be all that great but then, its the ACC where sometimes the "Lake Woebegone" effect makes everyone just slightly above average.,
thats just the difference in our personalities. I have noticed you err a lot more on the cautious side this time of year and I enjoy the "what could be" on the positive side. I get to enjoy all this positive upside until Sept or Oct and you get to feel down and more negative until we both see reality after the 3rd game

With Mendoza at qb and the 2 stud rbs we might have best rushing offense in country. Certainly the most explosive. The defense should be an attacking ball hawk fun to watch spectacle. Big risk big reward.
Gonna be the most exciting team in decades.
I voted 9-3 but could easily see better. We go undefeated into the Pitt game where Key will have to show he can coach us up over the hump finally. If so then I think we finally beat Louisville. Clemson we should beat. Wake is toast then the big game that we finally win ! Run game is gonna be too much.
Regardless , if Key wants to raise the level of this program we have to win no less than 9 games. No excuses.
VIN , you and your optimism are welcome aboard.
By way. Only 2% on this thread voted below 6%. But your cavat on expectations take u to next level.
There are no excuses for ol. Key s credentials are on the line ( 2 starting ol players and a coach he hired 2 years ago quit or got fired).
No more excuses.
Show out!

Two players? I thought it was three anyway one of them was arguably the best interior lineman we have had in a long time. The other one? Not so much maybe even addition by subtraction. I would like to know, (not that we ever will) what really transpired on that coaching staff between Coach Key and Geep Wade and the offensive coordinator. I would wager it was a pretty intense few weeks at the end.

Key is getting paid 6+ million a year, yes? So, some of your expectations is he gets a million per win next year?

Question directed at those who are predicting 6-6 (and one of those against a D1AA team?).

Hmmmmm...curious.

I don't know how he ranks in salary for 2026, but in 2025 Brent Key made the 52nd highest salary among college football head coaches. So by that measure, if he ended up with a better than 52nd place finish, he was underpaid:

IMO, they're all overpaid, every last one of them. But lots of coaches made more than a million $ a win.

I can only imagine what it was like given CBK’s intensity and with the sudden offensive dysfunction and the loss of 3/4 of remaining games (and could easily have been 4/4) after starting 8-0. Sort of overshadowed the defensive meltdown and resurgence they brought on. I’d imagine there was more than one side-eye.

Our defense has no where to go but up so I’m expecting a big step forward for our defense. I do not believe at all we were bad because of our players. I believe we simply had a scheme that made the players play hesitant and slow and our secondary were simply lost. I think reality slapped Key in the face after we got buzz sawed by the Wolfpack and Panthers which is why changes were made so I applaud Key for not letting the 8 wins blind h8m to what everyone saw. If our defense just plays fast and aggressive we’ll be much better.

Looks like someone closed the Faulkner thread. Found this interesting it's mostly a bored writer and click bait but he's projecting all college football coaches in 2030. Has Faulkner for GT. :)

That’s a very odd prediction.

I can't express enough how sufficiently Faulkner burned bridges here. He has a better shot at UGA.

Sure, he was selfish.
We thought his scheme made our players more effective. For a time it did. Other good coaches caught up .

Its time to drop the hero sideways offense and just line up and play ball. .
