suspiciously similar final to our VT game

Worth noting (but good luck getting the committee to notice) that Miami, compared to GT:

• allowed more yards to VT (367 vs 395)
• gained fewer yards against VT (418 vs 481)

which is nice to see after their shellac'ing of NCST last week.

The collapse of this team is kind of shocking to me. They were my dark horse pick to win the ACC. This reinforces for me the belief that there are probably only 4 or 5 teams in the nation, at the most, who can survive injuries and adversity.

It's mostly a fig leaf.

We would be low ranked in the BCS system, but there would be no need for a committee--the poll would just get published and you would know where you stand. In the CFP, the committee has lots of analytics, but they're making their rankings and then justifying them later. It's window dressing

Its set up by SEC and B1G to reward those conferences. ND brings tv viewers.

I legitimately don't know that Pitt even prepared to play ND, I could absolutely believe they spent the week practicing for us.

This is my take, too. Told a friend this during the game. Appears they totally focused on GT for two weeks.

They came out fired up to plsy fast and physical.m espe ially on defense. We looked like we were trying to figure out what might work. It was 28 to 0 before we got ourselves collected. HK was high on a lot of throws. Lucky more weren’t intercepted. They tackled well in space at times our guys would have broken big plays against other teams. Probably the best defense we have played this year.

Ill go with Occams Razor on this one. It seems alot more likely that Notre Dame is just a much better football team than Pitt.
