I hate to say it, because I’ve been blasted over the years for saying it, but Tech has a unique eco system that is a little more fragile than most schools. Controversies, locker room tensions, abrupt coaching changes, seem to hit us much harder. Tech requires a total commitment physically, mentally, spiritually to be able to both weather the grind and compete at a championship level. And if anyone doesn’t like the word “fragile” in relationship to Tech, get over it. I mean this in the same sense as describing a high performance racing machine. Everything from track racing conditions, tire choice, to fuel mixture, engine timing, carburetor adjustments, everything, must be coordinated with utmost care to get maximum performance.
No one can keep up with this machine at maximum performance levels. But when someone is secretly dumping bags of sugar in the gas tank…
