What's the biggest crowd you've seen at a game at Bobby Dodd Stadium?

In modern times the game I immediately went to was the ND game with Gameday being on campus and us having the night slot.

Low and behold it’s up there near the top for modern games on the list!

I was lucky enough to be an undergrad attending our 3 largest BDS crowds ever, according to the GT FB media guide. Auburn 71, UGa71, and UGa 73. But I swear the loudest I ever heard BDS was the FSU game in 2008 when we recovered the Noles fumble in our endzone.

Next time you do this, you should consider putting the 2nd highest attendance games in years where the UGAg game is #1.

Even setting aside that we haven’t beaten them at home for so long and so those games are rarely memorable, the game day experience is terrible because the size of the crowd reflects the Gaggers who’ve bought tech tickets rather than tech fans themselves.

There’s probably a lot of great home games being hidden by the UGAg game.

Played or dressed out for the 1969, 1970, and 1971 games...... Notre Dame in1969, the 2nd Fish Bowl, had a huge crowd, BTW.

Saw 72, 73, 86, 09,10,11,16,17,18, 19, 21,22,23, & 25 games. Gaps were usually me off doing Navy things, working on the wrong coast or continent, or family health issues.
Was '69 the year someone threw a fish that hit Ara Parshegian? Temp at kickoff (night game) was 14F? Lots of lubed-up students. I ain't saing nuttin' about me.

I was at all games:
1967: 60,024 (NOTRE DAME)
1968: 60,011 (TENNESSEE)
1969: 60,106 (GEORGIA)
1970: 59,624 (TENNESSEE)
1971: 60,204 (AUBURN)

Yep. Plus other assorted items at the ND bench. I recollect that the West Stand folks and administration were not happy.

Still…nothing tops the ‘77 UGAg game in my book. Cases of Milk Bone dog biscuits outside the East Stands student entrance, every body - and I mean everybody - filled their pockets with as many as could fit. The gate guards looked the other way. The mutts’ arrival on the East sideline was epic. A heavy shower of Milk Bone was bouncing everywhere on the Astroturf. Players could not take helmets off and UGA finally got locked in his cage - after slamming down at least 50 of those things! It was glorious… exceeded only by what happened on the field that day.

We’ve only beaten them 3x in Atlanta since that day (1985, 1989, and 1999). We have not beaten those mangy mutts at BDS in 26 years! Oh, the humanity!

decided to poke some fun today!
please note that this is just some lighthearted stereotyping, although part of me is serious about the south end and the upper north.

Can confirm as a lower west dweller we let BF know our thoughts when the screen pass didn’t work for a third time in the game.

The ND game in 2006 was the largest I remember in person. Incredible gameday atmosphere with 10 hours of tailgating.
I wish I could have seen that game in person, but we got screwed out of our block tickets by the overwhelming popularity of that game. So our whole block had to go sit on Tech Green and watch the broadcast as it was projected onto a screen. For that and some other reasons, that game was probably my most annoying gameday experience as a GT fan.

So I guess the biggest crowd I saw at BDS was the '08 FSU game, but the biggest crowd I've been in for any GT game was 2010 COFH in Athens with an announced attendance of 92,746. And, honestly, being in the middle of the cesspool just that one time made me never want to go back.

When I was in the UN we made fun of the folks everywhere else. We always stared yelling first because we could see what was about to happen. LOL. j/k

I’m still trying to figure out if “Lore accurate” is clever or a typo….:D
