....And that is for their normal 3:00 starts.
Expanding on this a little, I wonder if this may play a factor. We have played 20 night games, UGa has only played 9. Their offensive output is below 6 runs/game for those 9 night games, but to be fair, most of them are against Friday night SEC starters. That is likely the bigger factor. Still, I wonder how comfortable they are hitting under the lights.

Nuke, how about a poll on this, lol! 😂

Sure, give me some objective criteria. Problem is if I make it a question about RPI benefit or change in standings, then it's kind of boring (to me). I guess I could make it like

  • this game is more important than an ACC series game against a similar RPI team
  • this game is more important than an ACC series win.
  • this game is more important than a series win over Bowling Green
  • blah blah blah

Thanks! I'm gonna give away where I stand on the importance of the game's outcome tonight by saying that this Savant availability is the thing I am most excited about!

I hope that Underwood pitches tonight so that I can put some numbers to the debate we had Tuesday night about how good his "stuff" is. We got to see the numbers on Charlie Willcox during the Coolray game against State, and that showed that Willcox indeed has "stuff", but his ability to repeat anything that night was approaching 0. And that was one of his better games. My hypothesis is that we will see the same tonight from Underwood, but I'll finally have at least some limited SSS data to check my hypothesis.

I hope we get a full report after the game. I'll be at a brewery and miss most of the game.

Unlike football, beating the mutts isn't the #1 goal for this team. I don't spend all season looking forward to the COFH baseball game. A single baseball game does not mean anything near what a single football game does. Especially a single game on a Tuesday when both teams just faced a top tier team for a weekend series and both teams have another important series this coming weekend. You simply aren't going to see the best from either team. You may see a few weekend arms, but you aren't going to see them for very long. I'm sorry, but that type of baseball game isn't something I'm going to call "must win" or live and die by. If it does for you, to each their own.

Does that mean I want to lose? F*** no. F*** the mutts. Beating the mutts always feels great, no matter the sport. "Being ok with losing?" Lol. As opposed to what? "IF WE LOSE IT'S ALL OVER! THIS SEASON SUCKED!" If those are the two options, then I guess I'm "ok with losing."

Imo, this is just a football mindset that has made it's way over to baseball, but it doesn't really make sense because the sports and the way the schedules are set up are so different.

I think that the lack of importance of any single game is why this board is so much more genteel than the football or basketball board.

You would think that for a charity event they could have made this a reasonably priced pay per view event. Some of us have moved out of state and can't attend in person!

I'm on record as not being a fan of Kerce in the leadoff spot, but I'll be cheering hard for it to work tonight.

Farley appears to have been in the same graduating class as Tate McKee at Mt. Paran. I wonder what the level is of their friendship? He seems to be a decent pitcher from my memory of listening to several of their mid-week games, and it looks like he could be good for up to 60 pitches. I doubt he goes that long, though.

I know we've talked about it before, but as a reminder for those somewhat new to our board, pay attention to how many kids UGa has in their lineup who are transfers. Hint, nearly all of them except for Tre Phelps.
