Has anyone seen if/where UNC has announced their rotation? Are they playing games with holding off on that? Some were reporting rumors they may be making a change with their Fri guy.
I haven't officially seen an announcement, but they kept Decaro on Friday night 2 weeks ago vs BC during a Th-Sa series, and Boaz pitched Thurs vs BC, so I would be very surprised if they didn't start Decaro tonight. l agree with @WearGoldToGameDays as we need to work counts on Decaro so we can start work relievers Mcduffie and Glauber. They seem to overuse those 2 but those 2 have pitched really well.

I love your enthusiasm about this team. You WANT everyone... & I mean everyone to stop what their doing... & pay attention to GT baseball. Not a knock... keep it up. (y)

It is the equivalent of a top 5 football matchup being put on SEC network instead of having Gameday and being on prime time ABC.

I fully expect us to have great plate discipline with the best UNC pitchers to run up the count. Strategically given the thin depth of UNC staff, that makes sense. Sometimes we first pitch swing more but that does little to run up the count. But the first pitch is often the best you may see since the pitcher wants to get ahead.

Think Burress will be first pitch swinging?

Yes, but ESPN lost those rights to NBC, so I guess he is available. He usually does the CWS in Omaha, that is where he shines IMO. I don't know if he will do so for our game, but in Omaha he often figures out the pitcher's tells and pretty accurately calls out what pitch is coming before the pitch is released.
I sat next to Eduardo Perez on a 6am Philly-Miami flight last summer. He was flying home after doing the Phillies game for ESPN the night before. I talked up GT a little and then he started sneezing. A dog a few rows over was stirring his allergies. I gave him a Zyrtec out of my carry-on bag and he was cured. On landing in Miami, he insisted on getting me into the American Airlines Flagship Lounge (a step above the Admirals Club) which he is able to do as a Concierge Key flyer. I tried to tell him don't worry about it since he was home, but he insisted (it was worth it). Great guy in my book.

I’ve noticed that he seems to have the green light at the beginning of the game. Then works counts later in the game.

My guess is that CJR told him to tee off if he gets a fastball he thinks he can drive since the pitcher may not be fully settled in yet and we could jump on them early.

I can’t remember if burress has a lead off home run this season yet. Interesting thought exercise tho, we have 18 regular season games left and let’s say 12 more post season games for 30 games total. What’s the O/U on number of lead off HRs he hits the rest of the year? 0.5? 1.5?

This series is basically a Super Regional. I'm not sure how much I can watch live, but I will be refreshing the D1 baseball site about 8 trillion times this weekend.
To me this is more like an Omaha Game - wouldn't be surprised to see us playing them again there..

Here's what D1 has as 'projected starters' for the series - DeCaro holding on to the game 1 start.
