If we play like we did in the first half we could lose to BC! 110 yards of offense while giving up 250 yards. Duke fumbled a QB/RB exchange on our 3 yard line that turned into a 95 yard TD for us. They botched the snap on a 30 yard FG as well. That is easily a 17 point swing in the game.
The O had three possessions all of fewer than thirty five yards, all punts. Nothing else until the dying minute of the first half.

And yet the D schemed Duke well to limit them to four total possessions. They fumbled and missed a kick - the more plays you force a team to run, the more chances that’ll happen. Duke is a team that is best scoring fast (well, every team is, but Duke is both quite good at it and less good when NOT doing it.)

If we just hadn’t shown up at all the would’ve had at least two more possessions and probably something like a 17-0 lead.

Do Cuse or NCST have a Mensah to put up that many yards and have those scoring chances if our O starts that slow next week?

Yeah we could lose if we don’t show up at all, but there have been precisely no games where the team just failed to show up so far this year!

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if we're still at 12 but 11 is likely. LSU will drop. We'll jump loser of Tennessee/Bama. We'd could jump UGA but not Ole Miss. So 2, maybe 3 that we could jump. ND, OU, BYU could all jump us. Bama beating Vandy will keep them ahead of them.

I can probably give a good estimate of the rankings once we know the results of UGA and Bama games.

NCST does. Don’t think Cuse does after they lost their starting QB.

We'll jump Miami imo. It was a close game for them, but Louisville was not ranked.

I don’t believe any team with a loss will jump us in the rankings anymore.
Vandy has Missouri and Texas the next two weeks. If they win both then they likely jump us. I can't think of anyone else though except maybe Oklahoma but if they pass us then others ahead of us probably fall.

Bailey’s been pretty good but he hasn’t been as sharp (INTs and a bit fewer ypa) than Mensah. Better competition though - ND is probably the best D either has faced.

Smothers is the bigger wildcard there, I suppose.

We easily could lose to Pitt. Since they changed QBs they have been a very good team. We could lose to NCST as well if we play like we did in the first half today! Same actually against Syracuse who also is coming off a bye week!

We are a good team that fights darn hard and has grit. WE do not overwhelm our opponents with Great Athleticism though. We earn our wins the hard way!
Syracuse does not have a bye week. They are playing zpitt today

I don’t see Miami dropping out of the top ten. They have several good wins! Ranked #2 going into that game. Louisville may make the top 25 after this week’s games.
I think Louisville will be top 25, but Oregon dropped 5 spots for losing to the #7 (at the time) team close. I don't think its crazy to think they drop 8 or 9 spots losing to a previously unranked team.

Cuse is playing right now… no bye week.

I love seeing Tech fans "in the driver's seat" & unwilling / unable to notice.
