It's standard practice at most schools., particularly those with a neutral second color. Georgia wears red, Bama wears Crimson, Tennessee wears orange, UNC wears baby blue, Kentucky wears blue, Louisville wears red, etc.

Tech has some special people, for sure, so special that they will call you weird for wearing your school's primary color and calling for other fans to do so lol

"Oh no, what if people wear yellow" lol. Who cares? Looking across the stands at the last home game at least 65-70% of the people were wearing gold, sorry I didn't get close enough to do a Pantone match for each person.

49 straight times wearing gold helmets between white helmet uses. Pretty neat. Also something I noticed, do our gold uniforms look better with navy numerals or white numerals?

My personal preference is gold jerseys with white numbers. My fandom was forged in the Joe Hamilton years.... gold numbers with white jerseys, white numbers with gold jerseys. Plus it reinforces the whole white-gold primary I think we should have (navy for accent/trim only) That's just like my opinion, man

I’d say navy but that’s just me. I miss navy numbers on both our gold and white jerseys but I understand why Key has drifted us away from it. (In order to stand out from Navy + Notre Dame)

As I said I prefer navy numbers but I’m not mad or against gold numbers on white jerseys and vice versa. It pushes gold to the forefront. Navy I like more just because it’s historic and adds contrast and pop.

Disclaimer: fake jerseys from an unauthorized store, I do not endorse, blah blah blah

But is it crazy to say that some random fake seller understands Tech Gold better than adidas? I’m usually a navy numbers guy (see profile pic) but this saturated gold looks much nicer than the Magnum wrapper numbers we have currently imo… maybe it’s not as hard to nail down as some brands would lead us to believe

Um, those are the jerseys that we wear already. They look the exact same as the ones on the website for sale.

I hope we have at least a throwback to this look sometime. This is how God intended Tech football to look. So sweet.
If UA is worth their salt, that’s or white uniform and the Calvin throwback is our dark uniform with a 1990’s style navy jersey for an alternate. If they come out with that, I’d say sign them to a lifetime deal. We really don’t ask for much around here 🤣

Wow! Memories flood back of the days of Pepper (RIP). There are some great memories from those days.

34-14 at UGA (1974) In the mud
33-28 Clemson (1975)
28-10 at Auburn (1976)
23-14 Notre Dame (1976)
24-8 at Tennessee (1977)
38-21 Auburn (1977)
16-7 Georgia (1977)
24-10 at Auburn (1978)
17-13 Florida (1978)

When Pepper came to GT, all the Big Boys like Oklahoma, Alabama, and Texas were running the Wishbone and I was convinced that Tech was back on the road to national prominence. If Pepper had the
facilities and backing from the President that Coach Key has today, he might have accomplished that goal.

Regardless, there were some great wins in those days. I am thankful that I was able to see several of those in person at Grant Field.
