Portal players coming back

IIRC, scholarships are renewed, or not, on a year to year basis. Just another change I wish had not happened.

I'm totally confused. I thought, as @forensicbuzz said, it's no longer year to year renewal but 4-year arrangements.

Maybe it was simply that schools now have the option to make them 4year deals?

If it is 4 years, isn't it supposed to cut both ways? In essence, a player cannot leave on their own accord, i.e. not being processed? Just asking...

I believe he is at Western Kentucky.

Scholarship is year to year. Coaches would honor it in the past and could stay with the team but i think that is no longer the case. Probably case by case decision. NIL has really changed things. Coach Dodd honored the 4 year scholarship once it was given.

I’m not so sure that we are “processing” players, there are people on the team who never see the field and eventually graduate every year
