Can we please move on and stop lamenting “what might have been?”
Obviously, you are not 70+ yrs old..... Over the next few decades of your GT fan life, you will learn the true meaning of "crushing disappointment"..
2025 will always and forever come back to haunt you as our best chance EVER.....when GT actually had a shot at being relevant in CFB...
Have fun!

GT is spending like she never has before, and we are seeing the competition rapidly pull ahead and shrink on the horizon.
How so? We may finish ranked. Will Florida? How are teams pulling ahead when they’ve been ahead for 60 years by cheating?

This is all just emotions because of a backup QB. UGA just a few years ago could have beat us by 80. They’ve barely beaten us the past 2 years. How are these teams rapidly pulling ahead?

You guys are acting like we will have a 40 man roster next year and no coaches. We will sign a lot of portal players in the same way we got King, Vanden Berg, Hosley, and others. The sky is not falling because our OC took another job and a QB who has barely seen the field in college has left. If he would have stayed the next 2 years and then left for LSU his senior year then that would have sucked. But I have faith Weinke will put a serviceable QB on the field next year.

No, I’m a young 66. But I’ve experienced the loss of a child, the loss of a baby sister, the downsizing of two jobs and having to support a family while trying to start over. I don’t lose a lot of sleep over a football season. Jesus.

Yep…I have noticed that a lot of people who don’t care a thing about GT football are cruising around GT chat rooms at 930 pm on a Tuesday night in December
Not sure what “Jesus” thinks about our 2026 quarterbacking issues.

This is true. Maybe better than serviceable.

But what is not serviceable is SEC programs cherry picking our up and coming talent every year. That is a model that does not work at all.

Do we want to compete at the top of the ACC? Do we want a legitimate shot of beating UGA? Then we MUST be able to hold on to our eligible talent. What we cannot be is a developmental program for the SEC.

And I didn’t say I don’t care a thing. I said I don’t lament a passed season.

You won’t have to worry about me commenting on your posts in the future since I won’t be seeing them. Thank God for the ability to
I wasn’t worried about your comments. I have no idea who you are. But thanks for sharing tragic details of your life… . I know that is what most Tech fans come to Swarm Football chat rooms to discuss ….

I agree. We need to stay stacking the 8, 9, 10 win seasons back to back. It feels whenever we have a good year we lay a dud the following. I think that’s the really frustrating part for me as a fan. I saw Faulkner and Philip as an avenue to stack another great season after this one.
Exactly. Hypothetically, let’s say we win the bowl game and get to 10 wins. Then let’s say we win 10 wins the next two years to have three 10 win seasons in a row. THEN if we have a coordinator leave us for the same position at a 4 win SEC team and take players and staff with him, we’ll have a serious problem. Florida was in the Kiffin sweepstakes and very well could have gotten him if the AD got along with him. Florida, fair or not, still has that aura for coaches. We just aren’t there yet. I do believe if we keep winning we can get there because we seem to have the money and resources now.

Then we lost 3 of 4, confirming that those disrespecting us were, in fact, correct....
I’d argue the process I discussed above about stringing together multiple great years to build the program could have been sped up a bit if we took care of business in the last month and won the ACC and made the playoff, but I fear that may be a chicken/egg situation because I fear part of our struggles the last month were due to Buster having a foot out of the door. That said, I don’t disagree with you. The context of the 9-3 record makes the season feel pretty mediocre. It reminds me of 2006. I do think a bowl win and top 15-20ish finish would salvage a lot, but at this point, we have no idea who’s coaching or playing in the bowl.

Still looking for 10 wins this season?

BYU is a very different animal because its players are on a mission. (Well, technically, they're all back from a mission.) That means they're older, more mature and playing for more than NIL money. Like a service academy for God.

With our offensive coaching staff gone and players bolting, I doubt there's a lot of fire in the locker room at the moment. We could lose by four touchdowns.

Things aren’t are never as good or as bad as they initially seem in the moment. Losing philo and buster suck, but I have a feeling we’ll grab plenty talent from the portal once an OC is finally hired.

We probably never get Philo to sign under the old system you guys pine for when our bid was $0 while Auburn, Bama, FSU, Clemson, and UGA had boosters offering bags. And in case you didn’t notice we cherry picked Haynes King from a SEC school and Vanden Berg from a BIG school. And Hosley from an IVY. Everyone is a development school for everybody else. The SEC loses as many players as they take which is why they haven’t won a Natty lately and aren’t beating us by 50 points anymore.

Stop making sense! The sky is falling! The late season losses were all CBF's fault! We were killing it all year, didn't need those last second FGs to win games, we were crushing everybody by 40 points? Oh wait, that was just our imagination. Some of the ranting on here is as funny as it is irrational! Very entertaining though!
