The star rating system don't mean shat once guys are recruited and make it to campus. A bigger question is how we're all of the IU - JMU transfers overlooked out of HS by P4 schools then, but are now helping a traditional basketball school beat the crap out of blue blood football schools.

Cig has hit on 2 QB’s the last 2 years. The way Indiana brings in players can get you some wins but it can kill you the next year if you miss on a few players. If Cig had to recruit to win at Indiana they would be an average football team just like they always have been. He doesn’t recruit much he just pays players and Indiana has the money.

I still find it rather profound that Rick Pitino back in February of last year (wow, I can say that now...Happy New Year to all!!) stated St. John's was shutting down all recruitment of high school kids and focusing solely on the portal. No more money spent on coaches traveling to showcase tournaments primarily in April and July to evaluate 15 to 17 year olds. No more kissing the hind parts of children who don't even need to shave. No more sucking up to parents about how great their little kid is. Instead, he had the stones to come out and just say it...this is where we are today and I'm playing the game. We (or I should say "he" or "St. John's") are going to evaluate young men with film against other young men at the collegiate level who have been away from home and who will come into this program ready to compete against other comparable young men. We'll see if it works and whether he sticks with that. A blazing emphatic this-is-where-we-are approach to college athletics and recruiting.

Cignetti will turn 65 in June. Pitino just turned 73. I doubt either are all that interested anymore with dealing with whiny 16 year olds who have done nothing at the collegiate level and have their hands out expecting millions. I'm their age and I get it. ;)

He also appears to be a master at scouting, bringing in the right talent and incorporating them into his system.

In other words, doing what a head coach is paid handsomely to do. ;) ;) ;) ;)

(just kidding kind of...I know some are better at it than others...plenty of highly paid rosters in college football with losing records)

I guess they got their brakes back? A 10-pt lead, now 3, ain't much in this game. Winning by 35 in the 4Q like at the Rose Bowl or 23-0 in the 4Q in the Orange Bowl earlier today is "beating the brakes off". Huge drive upcoming for the Rebs. Stay aggressive. UGA defense is on their heels, especially their coverage guys. The Ole Miss QB has been sensational in his play making.
