The ACC is like a WWE wrestler who just sits in the corner of the ring waiting for the bell instead of doing all of the theatrics. (And it seems like college football is not far from the WWE in other areas as well.)

I agree that the spokesman could be a separate person, but that ship has sailed for the ACC. It's beyond time to move on. Hopefully it's not too late to undo all the damage...

There are nuanced differences, but the SEC tiebreakers are essentially the same. The tie between mutts, Bama, Ole Miss, and TA&M was decided by the exact same tie breaker that put Duke into the ACCCG. Using the SEC tie-breaker rules, Duke would be the team in the ACCCG.

The media management issue is the big thing with the conference leadership.

I'm not sure how that would work. Miami is currently 12th in the CFP rankings and would need to move up a spot or two, since a Duke win would open a spot for another ranked G6 champion. Since Miami wouldn't be a conference champ, they would need for a team currently above them to drop below them. I guess if Bama lost the SEC championship and went 10-3, they might drop. But Sankey wouldn't allow that. Am I missing something?
Maybe Miami will be viewed favorably this Tuesday since they beat Pitt by more than ND did.

Still think it's shoddy. I will guarantee you, though, that the SECheat allows that because they know that they will not allow a 7-5 team to get that close. They will "lose them out" to avoid that embarrassment.

The bottom 6 teams in the ACC are no better than the bottom 6 in the SEC. In conference the bottom 6 in the ACC were 11-37. Syracuse only OOC win is over Coalgate. BC is over Fordham. VT's is over Wofford, UNC's 2 are over Charlotte and Richmond, FSU had the Big Win over Bama, their other 2 were against East Texas A&M and Kent State, and finally Stanford beat San Jose State.

You can't make a case the bottom of the ACC was any good.

You can pull the conference beats each other up card if you win a bunch of non-conference games.

... and they beat ND to start the year off.

Miami is currently ranked #6 by Sagarin, ahead of every SECheat school. Their SOS is higher than Tx Tech, Indiana, Notre Dame, and Ohio State - four of the five teams ahead of them. Vandy and Texas are ranked #11 and 12. Those two need to be dropped, if anything. However, JMU is #28, NTU is #38, and Tulane is #54. But he's got some real screwy ratings, too. The parity we see today is making these things weird.

Vandy and Texas are already below Miami in the CFP rankings, so that wouldn't help. Also wouldn't surprise me if the committee has Texas jumping Miami since they just beat former #3 A&M.

Maybe the committee looks at Sagarin, I don't know. They seem to make up rules as they go.

But see we didn’t get to play the bottom 6 in the SEC. Their top teams play our bottom teams and claim supremacy.

They need both Alabama and BYU to lose. I think BYU would drop below Miami but verdict is way out if Alabama would drop below Miami even with a 3rd loss.

To be fair, Jim Phillips would have been great 20 years ago, but in the modern age of NCAAF, he's an anachronism that is detrimental to the league as a whole.

Well scratch that, Vanderbilt is now ahead of Miami. Need to make sure SEC is protected. Coaches poll.
