I 100% agree. I will feel better if we can get a “dominant” win against a P4 team. I too am still happy with a win nonetheless though.

I know this has probably been said on this thread a million times, but the offense concerns me. I know Faulkner said they are running certain things because of how the defenses have been playing them, but still. I think the lack of consistency and lack of explosiveness is what concerns me most. But, as all the coaches said, the bye week came at a great time and hopefully they regroup and come out locked and loaded even more than they have thus far. Go Jackets.
Being concerned about things while being undefeated is such a first world problem. I love 💕 our new neighborhood. Thanks CBK and Prez Cabrera.

Surprises:
1. The amount of growth we have seen out of Canion in a single year. The kid has worked his butt off.
2. Hosley is a 1A back. Zero drop off when Jamal is out. He is physical and elusive with great instincts and balance.
3. How much speed we have on the team as a whole, especially the young guys.
4. Tae Harris has really impressed me with a good field sense and closing speed. He is gonna be good.
5. Overall tackling as a team has been better than any recent years.

Disappointments:
1. The number of breakdowns in execution along the OL. Physically, we are handling people. The number of times we make mistakes needs to be reduced though.
2. TE productivity in terms of yards and also blocking in space.
3. I thought our pass rush would be a little more disruptive than we have seen.

I'll kind of hide this in a thread: I have heard on good authority that our OL has been a work in progress this week. When I asked for clarification as to whether the emphasis was on the work or the progress, I got back a rant about the difference in war strategies between WW1 and the blitzkrieg of WW2, Ewell's failure to advance and take the high ground at Gettysburg, and some other topics that are likely best left off a public message board that I interpreted to all be pointed at making the right adjustments on the field and then trusting those decisions and just playing aggressively without any second guessing. I think the get right week comes at a very good time for us.
Thanks for the insight Bain, I always thought the Germans made a tactical error when they bombed Pearl Harbor.

I should never comment on a game until I watch the film. During game, I drink too much and watch the ball, not the LOS.

After replay review
- OL was Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. In first half could not pick up stunts or blitzers-ugly. In second half the protection was very, very good and lineman stayed in their lane. Kudos to OL for turning it around.
- Manley, who I have been down on a bit, played a solid game. Created havoc in backfield, forced a fumble, forced a holding. He still could wrap up better but he is disruptive.
- TEs played pretty well. #88 and #17 made some nice blocks from the Hback position and the TE's also had some pass catches. We need more of that.
- Pass rush needs work. Manley is only one getting in there.
- I know the RBs were hurt and sick. Given that, they played terrible. Didn't run hard or smart. But worse than that, their blocking absolutely stunk. I think that partly lead to TEs being put in backfield late in game. Good call by coaches. The RBs have to play better - running and blocking.
- Claiborne for WF is good.
- Would love to see 22film to see if check downs in first half were right decision - there were a few.

Like we say down here in south Georgia...they are "good people" Those of us in the Bible Belt don't share their ideas on faith but recognize them for being decent, caring individuals not worthy of the disdain and hatred shown to them by those fools in Colorado.
Violently taunting people of a different religion? We definitely don't do that here at Georgia Tech. Certainly, it's not like my father's fraternity (and, for that matter, the AEPi's) saved up unrefridgerated fish to toss at a certain immigrant related religious school who styles themselves a football powerhouse but refuses to join a conference to test that proposition.

...

Tech did nothing wrong, Rudy was offsides. PROVE ME WRONG!!!11!oneone.

Positives:

— Kicking game is sound, so far.

— Canion and Hosley are pleasant surprises.

Meh (kinda halfway):

— QB Haynes King continues to be excessively relied upon in the run game (albeit he’s very effective at times). The more he runs, the more the coaches risk a season-ending injury for him. Bless his heart!

— OL blocking, both running and pass protection, is inconsistent. When not good, it’s poor.

Negatives:

— No consistent pass rush from defensive front four.

-- Not a powerhouse team. Currently overrated, despite 5-0 record thus far. Present Sagarin Rating (#33) is about right.

Some Mormons tried to convert my family once. The whole experience was driven by my sisters who thought the two evangelists were hot and ended up dating them. My Dad fancied himself as a person open to argument so I had to sit there looking at boards showing Christ preaching to the Aztecs - of all people - and such. I thought it was silly myself, but since my sisters craved the guys, I sat through all of it. They didn't convert us, of course.

They seemed nice enough and I've never heard anything discouraging about the cult in general. But people get very caught up in hatreds these days, usually with no good reason at all. Too bad, that.

Oh, please. Quit with the internet tough guy talk, that's not fooling anybody.

Come visit Colorado and take a hike, lol.

I think the state of Colorado is one big dope party. I have no desire to hike or do anything else there.

Colorado is beautiful and not overcrowded at all. Definitely go there or California for hiking, the rest of the western states are ugly. Wyoming is flat, Idaho is nothing but potatoes, and Montana has too many grizzlies.

Things you'd never see in Atlanta, that's for sure.
Atlanta is definitively not a dreary town. Where are the trees? Every city has traffic issues. But Colorado seems to only have like one main road to get anywhere. Denver is like a dirty armpit and that airport? They had to be smoking massive dope when they setup the rental car area.

Atlanta is definitively not a dreary town.
When I hear the word "dreary," my mind instantly goes back to looking out of a window over Skiles on an overcast day in in February.

I definitely don't think about hiking the Maroon Bells in May, seeing the hot air balloons launch from Tellurude in June, driving through the Aspens in the fall, or getting strapped to my Board at 10,500' on a bluebird morning...

...Do you understand the point I'm really trying to make yet?

Every city has traffic issues. But Colorado seems to only have like one main road to get anywhere.
Places do tend to be harder to navigate efficiently when you're unfamiliar with them. And, I have to admit, those pesky Rocky Mountains did present a few uniquely limiting civil engineering challenges.

...and that airport? They had to be smoking massive dope when they setup the rental car area.
Yes, I do believe everybody universally agrees that one of the key metrics of whether or not a city could be considered "dreary" is the airport rental car experience. And, famously, Atlanta's airport is never a nightmare.

I agree we’re no powerhouse, my friend. But do you really think the 32 teams Sagarin has above us are all legit better? I don’t. For sure many are. But Nebraska is better? Iowa St is better? Arizona St is better? Auburn is not better than us. I don’t think South Carolina or Florida are necessarily better than us right now in spite of Florida's big win today against an overrated Texas team. I don’t think Iowa is better. Penn St appears to be a fraud. I don’t know if Illinois is better. They might be. Utah? They are usually tough. Washington may not be better. I think there are a bunch of teams that are good in the same range as us but whether they are better? Maybe or maybe not. My point is that if we are overrated I don’t think it’s by 15 or 16 spots.

I agree with some of the rest of your comments, though. OL needs to get better and given what we’ve seen from Geep Wade we know they should and likely will improve throughout the season. New faces at three spots will do that especially when one is center and we’ve already had to juggle two younger guys due to injury and inconsistency.

I moved out here to Colorado a few years ago and there is a very large dislike of the Mormons for a lot of people in this state. I am not sure why that is but it is very prevalent. It seems to have raised its ugly head during that game against BYU.
Nah. That was just CU fans being their usual selves. (& showing their ugly heads.)
