A win here would be huge. Going to be a tough game as clemp is awfully feisty, finds a way to claw out victories.

That rubber game early in the season in the DH still bugs me. Burress jacks that HR to go up 3-2 in B8. We run ruled them in game 1, absolutely demolished their pitching staff, then only mustered 5 hits in game 2. We come out with Barfield in T9, pull him after an error then wham we're back down 4-3.

And that was when Gaudette was still in tier 1 of the bullpen. Does anyone know the status of Gaudette...has he just been totally demoted, or is he also an injury candidate? He hasn't pitched since the Cal series 6 weeks ago.

I think it's just a case of numbers. Our starting pitching has been going much deeper into games of late reducing the innings needed from the pen. Gaudette's BA he yields is over .300 so he's fallen down a few notches in the pecking order.

That's a great point. As opposed to last year when I think we only had 1 or 2 pitchers the entire year even make it to 5 innings, this year we've had quite a few games where our starter has lasted 5 or 6 innings then only 1 and sometimes 2 more pitchers to carry us thru 9.
