The Saturday of the Masters. Does anyone down there not think of these things? The most popular day in golf of the whole year, when even non golf fans sit in front of their TV to watch and they put the Spring game at basically the same time (ok, a little earlier). Dumb.

Not the best date for sure!

No matter what date they choose, people will have conflicts. No need to complain. If you can make it...Great! If you can't...that's ok too.

Key if you’re reading this please just have players do a ribbon dance and a couple autographs

In all seriousness while portal threat still exists, I think spring game should morph
into more of a fan day/fundraiser.

$20 entrance fee with 100% of the proceeds going towards an evenly disturbed NIL collective (that way all players also VERY happy to see you)

On field access to mini games with the players. Extra money gets you tickets to play said games like-
-Passing to WR’s
-Tug of war against an OL or DL
-Out range the kickers for a prize
-Accuracy contests against QB’s for prize

Aside from the $$ benefits for the players/program, you could create a really nice domino affect of player/fan love by putting faces and personalities on both parties. Fans are starting to see players as money symbols and vice versa. Spring game could be a huge opportunity to combat that for the good of the program and CFB as a whole.

A lot of the entire college football world has also chosen April 12:
Florida, GT, Notre Dame, Alabama, VT, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Ohio St, Oklahoma, Pitt, Tennessee, UVA.

Power schools that did not choose April 12 -

Oregon, Washington, Penn St on April 26/May 2 (I doubt GT can do this due to conflict with finals/end of semester)
Clemson on April 5 (traditionally theirs is the first Saturday in April - they have to start spring practice in February to accomodate this)
And a couple less significant stragglers like Wake, Duke, or Colorado on April 19. This is the only other real option.
And of course Nebraska and Texas and the like starting to cancel spring games altogether.

This bemoaning the Masters or similar competing events every year is much ado about nothing. I'd rather have a better spring practice schedule and make our players the most successful they can be in the fall than attract an extra 200 casual fans that apparently can’t be convinced to watch golf at a tailgate instead of on their couch to a spring game.

I could understand if they had badges, but looks like those complaining will just be sitting on a couch. I'll watch what I can at work throughout the week and then tune in for Sundays Final Round starting while I'm sitting in church watching on the app.
Why is the Saturday of the Masters more "must see tv" than The Opening Round and all it's pageantry? Or Moving Day on Friday? Or the Final Round on Sunday and all its grandeur? Please make it make sense.

Do it at 10 AM then.

Saturday is moving day at the Masters. And I’m a 30+ year season ticket holder, so not a casual fan. Given the choice, I’m watching Augusta. Just a bad call in my opinion. We need to try to get more fans there, not less. 🤷🏽‍♂️

When exactly do you suggest they move it then?

April 5 means you start spring practice in February. Guess we're not having outdoor practices this year. Not ideal
April 19 is Easter weekend. Even worse call - lot of people are on spring break or out of town.
April 24 is in the middle of finals. Let's make sure our players have the toughest road possible to pass their class.

Or April 12 which conflicts with people watching golf on TV. And to accomodate the golf on TV, let's make everybody get to campus at 8AM. That'll make sure our attendance is good! I love the Masters too but I'm sorry, it just doesn't make sense to me. Sometimes you gotta pick.

Move the spring game to 11 AM on Saturday. Easy fix.
