Is the SEC dynasty officially dead yet or will ESPN create some special metric to tell us the SEC is still the most dominant conference? 1 SEC team in the Final 4 this year after being matched up with another SEC team in the Quarters. Same amount as the "lowly" ACC.

Can't wait for GT to join the B1G in 2030...

SEC is down and struggling but they’ve controlled the national narrative for so long they may be able to coast on that for the next five years.

Even if Miami had won, the ACC still wouldn't have any preseason top 5 teams next year.

I’d say it proves more how important a solid defense is.

Without their D-line, Miami wouldn’t be in the playoffs, period. Much less playing Indiana as close as they did.

Which is why I’m thrilled we’ve been picking up OL/DL in the portal this year, as they’re needed more than any other position.

Let’s see, they’ll tout Georgia as a top 3 team, try to get Texas in at number one, claim LSU is back, that Tennessee is really, finally, this time for real, back, sprinkle in Alabama, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and then suggest that the following teams are better than most other teams in any other conference -Florida, Auburn, Missouri, Mississippi, Arkansas.

So, yeah, they’ll have 12 teams in the top 25. Where’s Vanderbilt, you may ask? Oddly, this is the one team the SEC fails to promote on a daily basis and it seems to carry over to the sports writers. They will receive votes but will neither rise as fast as other SEC teams nor linger as long in the rankings if they lose.

I really don't think it would have helped if Miami had won. ESPN and the idiots that vote in the polls base things on past history problem is they don't update their history.

I thought that went about perfectly. An extremely competitive game where the ACC looks good, but Miami just loses so we can still crap on them for not having won an ACC (or national) championship since they joined the conference.

My impressions of him are exactly the same after seeing him against Oregon for the first time. He is so accurate that a DB simply has NO chance against those comeback or back shoulder routes. i don't know if Deion or Woodson in their primes could stop that. And he and the team benefits from having receivers who can hang on to highly contested balls. Decker (#80?) is unreal - they said he was 6'4" AND the fastest guy on the team? Did I hear that correctly? The IU "has no talent" mantra can stop now.

One other thing - IU's little CB (Pond?) at 5'9" made a perfect form tackle on Fletcher (6'2", 230 #) behind the LOS by hitting him below the knees and wrapping up. I would like to see that being taught on the flats next year. It's a lost art form in today's game.

I thought it proved how important receivers are. The difference in the game to my eye was that Indiana's receivers made some great catches, and Miami's didn't. Pass defense on both sides was excellent.

All the games in the CFP were like that, it seemed to me. You had to pretty much mug somebody to get a flag thrown on you.
