From a financial backing perspective ESPN = SEC,  Fox = Big10.  Currently, ESPN owns the majority of the broadcasting rights for CFP games through 2031/32 season. Expanding to 24 teams would open new negotiations for CFP games giving Fox an opportunity to broadcast games. Bringing Fox into the picture would most likely cause ESPN to pay more for the inventory they currently own.</p></blockquote><p></p>
