In a run rule game, the win can be awarded if the pitcher doesn't go the full 5, apparently. Not sure exactly of the rule, but they addressed it. They were tongue-in-cheek joking how mad Tate would be if he was pulled after 4, then Cal scored 8 to extend the game to the full 9 and take the win away from him.</blockquote>
