Message: <blockquote data-quote="billga99" data-source="post: 1134545" data-attributes="member: 1618"><p>I don't think the revenue differences between teams in conferences were too large until the last couple of decades.  That difference became huge in 2 areas.  Ability to pay coaches significantly more money and most importantly NIL money.  The coach issue became strong in facilities, number of coaches, recruiting assistances, etc.  The other thing is having major networks throw big bucks at 2 conferences: Fox/CBS with Big Ten and ESPN with the SEC.</p></blockquote><p></p>
