1952 GT was pretty darn good
1971 Nebraska their closest game was a 4 point win against Oklahoma no other team got closer than 24 & 24 players on that team played in the NFL.
First I would form as many 10 or 11 team conferences from all of the present D1 schools thus ensuring teams played every team in their respective conference.
As far as possible make these conferences fit geographically as close as possible.

I don't think we " laid an egg "yesterday, we lost by 3 on the road to a pretty good offensive team that we should be giving them their credit as they played hard too. This team will be OK as I see at least 7 or 8 wins this year. Just like all teams we have a few things to clean up.
My cousin who was a college BB coach in the OVC & later an AD told me after I told him what a great player Mark Price was that he would never make it in the NBA. I assured him that MP would be a good player in the NBA. I have never let him forget it.
I think the sport is dying because of the NIL in part but participation levels are down, aging fan bsse, etc
